As October draws to a close, we're excited to reflect on a month filled with…
The Care England 2022 Conference
This week we attended The Care England 2022 Conference in Westminster. The theme this year was ‘Facing the Future’ where we focused on the action taking place in key areas of the sector to further improve the quality of social care.
Sajid Javid closed the conference after he set out the forward plan for the sector over the next ten years, following the Chancellor’s Spring Budget announcement.
The Health and Social Care Secretary said the £150m the government was investing in social care was not a “nice to have” but an “absolute necessity”.
The government has set a target of 80% digitisation of the sector by 2024 and Sajid Javid said the government would publish its first Digital Health and Care Plan outlining how both sectors can benefit from digital technology.
We’re determined to support you in that endeavour, supporting providers with the connectivity and digital skills they will need to recover and reform in the years ahead.
Matthew Gould from NHSX confirmed that £8m of the funding is to support providers to implement digital care.
There was also a great reflection from Ed Balls, Ed turned his attention to his hands on experience working in a care setting for his BBC documentary “Inside the Care Crisis with Ed Balls”.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Care England for all they do to raise the profile of Social Care.
It was a pleasure to be surrounded by dedicated care professionals that are extremely passionate about further enhancing the lives of their service users and workforce.
