As October draws to a close, we're excited to reflect on a month filled with…
Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection
Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection is about remembering all those lost and the sacrifices made in social care over the last 2 years. The past 2 years have been a difficult time for the entire adult social care workforce, and today people across the social care sector are coming together to #RememberSocialCare on Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection.
Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection
This special day has been organised by Skills for Care. The purpose of the day is to pay tribute to everyone working across social care and their dedication to support our communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everyone living through the Covid-19 pandemic over the past two years will know only too well how care staff, together with key workers, have been vital to providing the ongoing care and support of the most vulnerable people in our communities.”
Huge sacrifices
The past year has been particularly challenging for the social care workforce who have continued to work tirelessly and make huge sacrifices in face of the pandemic.
An estimated 922 social care workers in England tragically lost their lives between March 2020 and May 2021. So, we must never forget their kindness, bravery and dedication.
Why not dedicate messages of thanks and remembrance to social care workers on the dedicated Thank You Wall and Memorial Wall on The Care Workers’ Charity Website.
