Case Study
Copper Beeches Lodge
Copper Beeches Lodge joined Care Control as they needed a solution to help with their Care Planning and to help create person centred care for their clients. We spoke with Ryan Tarrant Copper Beeches Lodge’s IT Technician, as he set up care plans and risk assessments before their implementation had even started, a new for Care Control, he did this using our knowledge base and his own intuition.
Who are Copper Beeches Lodge?
Learning their Background
Copper Beeches Lodge is a family-run residential care home that has been running for 17 years. They provide personal and nursing care for 13 service users with learning disabilities.
Understanding the Challenges
Care planning and monitoring on a daily basis, we spent so much time doing this. Going digital would help reduce this time and allow us to focus more on the care side.
Finding their Solution
The care planning feature was definitely most appealing, as that was one of the major reasons for getting it. But for me personally, it was the rostering features as that is something I deal with mostly.
I spoke with Ryan Tarrant Copper Beeches Lodge’s IT Technician, to find out how their implementation with Care Control is going. As Ryan had set up care plans and risk assessments before their implementation had even started, a new for Care Control, he did this using our knowledge base and his own intuition.
“Care planning is self-explanatory really, you just need to be self-motivated to get on with it and you will be fine.”

Tell me about your care home?
Copper Beeches Lodge is a family-run residential care home that has been running for 17 years. They provide personal and nursing care for 13 service users with learning disabilities.
Ryan’s Dad is the Service Provider and Owner, his mum is the Director and Owner and his Wife is a Deputy Manager, alongside 15-20 other staff members which all work together to provide the excellent service for their service users.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
I really like problem-solving, so I like to be able to organise my work so I can solve problems.
You must have enjoyed going digital then?
I did yes, we have spent a lot of time trying to update our systems, so I have really enjoyed going from a paper system to a digital one.
It was so Impressive how you set up Care Control before your implementation, how did you find it?
Obviously, I have a background in IT so that helped, and I like to just work things out. At first, I did it without the knowledge base and once I found out about the knowledge base this definitely helped in some areas. I asked him if there was anything else he wanted to add or any areas he found particularly easy. To which Ryan replied, “Care planning is self-explanatory really, you just need to be self-motivated to get on with it and you will be fine.”
What did you think of the implementation that you have had with Bekki?
I found it really beneficial, I just went over stuff I didn’t understand and Bekki helped me and explained it really well, I’m looking forward to my final session with her.
What are you most excited about using with Care Control when you are all set up?
The whole system really, to have a functioning system which I can access from anywhere as I often work from home will be great. Personally again I am looking forward to being able to use the rostering aspects and the shift covering. But to have everything functioning together is what is going to be best.
