Who are Albert House Nursing Home?

Learning their Background

Albert House Nursing Home is a luxurious, state-of-the-art care facility for the elderly. The 38-bed nursing home is a family run business that employs over 50 staff and has proudly maintained good rating from the CQC.

Understanding the Challenges

The information and evidence the regulator collects at an inspection is comprehensive. Providing robust evidence to the regulator on what has or has not happened is essential. As far as the inspector is concerned, if something is not recorded then it did not happen and suggests the provider is failing in some way. We needed to ensure we were properly recording and evidencing all aspects of care; failing to do so would have a detrimental impact on our inspection outcome.

Finding their Solution

Switching to an electronic care management system involves a shift in working practice, we were concerned about the change, but we didn’t need to be. Care Control was easier to implement than we had expected! We identified two “Care Control Champions” within the home who were enthusiastic about Care Control and embraced the change. They were responsible for configuring the system, entering data and supporting the roll out of Care Control across the home. We set a ‘go live’ date and went cold turkey on paperwork.

Care Control gives us a clear audit trail. All aspects of care are recorded electronically with automatic time-stamps and user name; we can trace back to identify both mistakes and successes.
