Learning their
Background
1st Enable help adults with learning disabilities to live independently through it’s supported living and outreach support services. A team of just over 100 staff provide tailored support for varying individual needs, from 24 hour support to just a few hours of support a day.
Understanding the
Challenges
1st Enable provide care at multiple locations in the area, in each client’s own home, making it difficult for management to get a complete overview of care activity across the organisation. Because staff were not based at one central location, communication could sometimes be a challenge and management were not always immediately aware of important information such as incidents.
Valuable time was being spent archiving a tremendous amount of daily paper care records; 1st Enable wanted care staff to be able to spend this time with clients.
Helping to find
The Solution
1st Enable rolled-out Care Control across their organisation. For outreach support, each carer has the Care Control app installed on a smartphone device making it easily portable and accessible at the point of care. For supported living, tablet devices can be found in each unit for accessing and recording care information. Management have Care Control Windows on their office computers for overall control of the system and reporting.
