Charlotte’s Care Experience

Charlotte Richards is one of our implementation specialists and has been at Care Control for 6 months now. She has 12 years of care experience in both a Domiciliary setting and a Residential home.

What Care experience do you have?

I spent 4 years working for Devon and Cornwall care services a domiciliary service, and then I spent 8 years at Spring House a Dementia Residential Home. I started off as a care assistant and did my NVQs to become a senior carer, care manager and eventually deputy manager.

What was your reason for going into care work?

I fell into care work really; I never considered it. But I needed a job, and it worked around my childcare, so it was perfect, and I actually ended up really enjoying it.

What is your favourite thing about working in care?

My favourite thing was how different each day was, you just never knew what was going to happen. I also really liked the residents they were amazing, and nothing they did was ever malicious. Some days were amazing, and some were not but you would always laugh. I miss it a lot sometimes.

If you used digital software, how did it help your role?

I used Care Control at Spring House, and it helped me immensely. The notes and the reports are at your fingertips, not having to go through loads of paper to find the last note and being able to write down things as you go. As a manager, the reports at my fingertips were so useful.

What is your favourite feature about Care Control?

My favourite feature about Care Control is the rota, and how easy it is to use. I like how easy it is for staff to see who is working what shift.

What feature of Care control would benefit you most if you went back into care?

Honestly, everything, the care notes, care plans everything. It’s all so useful.
